DHZ: ensuring water availability 

As part of the National Delta Program for Freshwater (DPZW) we are working on water availability with the Delta Plan for High Sandy Soils (DHZ). DPZW’s objective is to be resilient to freshwater shortages by 2050: all sectors are prepared for water shortages and water demand is in balance with water supply during dry periods. For water supply, the high sandy soils are almost entirely dependent on precipitation. Measures focus on creating a robust groundwater and surface water system, reduced water use and spatial adaptation.
